Source: SBA 7(a) FOIA dataset. Years are SBA fiscal years (Oct 1 to Sep 30), the convention SBA and lenders report on, so these figures tie to SBA's published totals. FY2026 is a partial year, with approvals through Mar 31, 2026 so far. A 25-year or longer (300-month) maturity is the strongest available signal of a real-estate-purpose 7(a) loan, since only real-estate loans can run that long; the FOIA data has no property-type field, so the Real Estate quick filter and 25yr+ figures are a proxy, not a label. Percentages are by loan count. Charge-Off %, Guaranty Purchase % (SBA-purchased plus charged-off), and Paid in Full % are cumulative, measured against disbursed loans. Delinquent / Past Due % is a point-in-time snapshot measured against loans still outstanding (it excludes loans already paid off or charged off, which cannot be past due). Disbursed % is measured against all approvals in the current filter. Deferred loans (payment relief) are reported as their own category, not as problem loans. Note: recent vintages are young, so realized charge-off and purchase rates understate eventual through-cycle losses; see Credit Performance for dollar-based, seasoned-vintage rates.
